Fidelity Energy & Sustainability’s Dale Cranford Named AEE Young Energy Professional of the Year
HUNT VALLEY, MD (June 29, 2026): Fidelity Energy & Sustainability (FES) is proud to announce that Elton “Dale” Cranford, PE, CEM, has been named a 2026 Young Energy Professional of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), one of the energy industry’s most respected professional organizations.

The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the energy profession by emerging leaders who are helping advance energy efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. Dale will be formally recognized during the AEE International Awards Banquet on September 16, 2026, held in conjunction with the AEE World Energy Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida.
For those who know Dale, the recognition comes as no surprise. Over the course of his career, Dale has built a reputation for combining technical expertise with a practical understanding of how energy projects create value for organizations. He has managed multimillion-dollar performance contracts, led business development efforts across public-sector markets, and overseen project design, construction, and measurement and verification activities. As an Energy Engineering Business Development Representative with FES, Dale works closely with clients to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, lower operating costs, and make meaningful progress toward their sustainability goals.
Dale’s impact extends well beyond his work with clients. A licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina and a Certified Energy Manager through AEE, he has been an active leader within the organization for many years. He was previously recognized as the 2019 AEE Region II Young Energy Professional of the Year and was inducted as an AEE Fellow in 2022. His service to the organization has included leadership roles as Region II Vice President, Chapter President, Chapter Vice President, Chapter Secretary, and currently as the U.S. Representative for AEE’s Awards Program.
